2. CONDITIONING
Parts are loaded into a basket or suspended on a jig. Various methods of basket or jig handling are possible including using hoists or cranes, programmed lifts, or completely automatic systems which pick up the workload from the ground or loading conveyor and then return after processing. 

Generally, if you are using, or have used, vapour degreasing equipment you can use Dri within the same small footprint but with a considerably improved product.

For consistency, parts to be processed need to be at the same temperature as the boiling Dri process liquid.

Suspension in the vapour section for about a minute is usually sufficient for the small increase to 38 degrees Celsius.

3. PROCESSING 4. DRAINAGE

When Lowered into the boiling Dri liquid a chemical reaction occurs which converts the surface of the metal by an acidic reaction. This process etches the surface removing soils and oxides - and using thin-layer-technology exclusive to EnviroTech Europe produces a nano-thick coating of crystals on all exposed surfaces, without changing dimensions.


During the acid-etching, bubbles are produced on the surfaces which release the soils which, with dissolved oil and grease and excess crystals, are removed by continuous filtration. The liquid is stable and boils at 38 degrees Celsius, a little above ambient temperature, so that the heating requirement for the machine is very low. This part of the process takes about 2 minutes.

Parts are raised into the vapour section in order to drain the active
Dri liquid from the parts back into the sump for about one minute.

5. RINSING 6. DRYING 1

Dri vapour is controlled by refrigeration-cooled multi-coils, condensing it to  liquid, which is collected and retained in a reservoir.

The rinse sprays are used to remove any remaining active liquid and to cool the parts.

Parts are retained in the vapour section to allow a secondary rinse, as condensation of vapour onto the cooled parts completes the flushing of the surface and penetration into spot welds and other hidden surfaces.

7. DRYING 2 8. CYCLE FINISH

Any liquid still on the surface drains back into the sump. Rinsing and drying will take one to two minutes.

The process is now complete.

Parts are dry, cool to handle, protected - and display an iridescent blue colour which is a VISUAL quality check that the surfaces are fully coated. The crystals grow from and are an integral part of the metal surface.

The crystalline nano-coatings give a massively extended flexible surface area greatly improving adhesion of the final coatings with improved corrosion protection.

Parts are protected from in-house rusting and corrosion which is ideal for batch finishing when assembly may be needed before final painting or powder coating. Parts can be stored in dry conditions for six to twelve months before final finishing.
